Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Overhate

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Overhate.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

OVERHATE: Overhate is a thrash / death metal band, with touches of progressive music and clean vocals here and there to describe it in a nutshell. For you, it is going to be a very life changing experience.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

OVERHATE: A lot of bands, experiences and moments are the main influences for the music we make.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

OVERHATE: Our latest release is ‘New Beginnings Are Met’, it is our third record and it is definitely what you could say a landmark album. You’d like to know what Venezuela’s thrash metal sounds like, you’d definitely need to check this out. Again, it’s going to be an experience for you, as a listener.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

OVERHATE: A life changing experience, but with moshpits and circle pits.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

OVERHATE: Actually it is a very good question… because the music that we’ve been writing now differs a lot from the one we did when we started out. Just that, I am also playing in a death metal band and a sort of ‘progressive’ band as well, so time will tell. I don’t want Overhate to ever mellow out, but we’ll see how the new experiences shape the way we write. Pandemic gave me a ton of ideas for the new record, and I do think the songs are killer.
