One Killed, Four Injured In Shooting At Crawling Through Tartarus Show In San Bernardino, CA

According to NBC Los Angeles, one person was killed and four others were injured following a shooting during a death metal show at the Marquis Lounge in San Bernardino, CA. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on April 23 while Crawling Through Tartarus were onstage.

A report from CBS Los Angeles has since confirmed that the man who died was 32-year-old James Vincent Dickson. The other four victims are in stable condition. Among those in the hospital is Crawling Through Tartarus vocalist Matt Holzboog, who was reportedly hit by two bullets. His wife shared the following update on social media [via The PRP]:

“Update on Matthew, I just got off the phone with the doctor. He had his second surgery this morning that lasted 3 hours, and it went really well. There was talk about needing a third surgery in the future, but not during this hospital stay. I asked if there was any idea of when I could bring him home and he said if not by the end of the week then next week he’ll be home. The doctor told me how fast everyone reacted to help Matthew made a huge difference on him not losing his leg Saturday night.

The doctor said he came very close. So huge thank you to Zander Dixon for reacting so fast and using your belt as a tourniquet. The doctor wanted me to tell you that saved his life by doing that because his artery was just pumping away. I owe you huge! Because of your quick thinking, my children will be able to see their father by next week.”

Police are still investigating the shooting, but there has yet to be any info regarding a suspect or motive.
