Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Dusty Grant.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
GRANT: I started out as a solo artist in 2017 playing solo acoustic gigs throughout the Midwest. As interest grew, I started getting some bigger opportunities and put the band together back in early 2021. Since then, we’ve been recording, writing, and rehearsing. We play hard rock music.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
GRANT: Jerry Cantrell, Trent Reznor, Scott Weiland.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
GRANT: Our latest release is called “Oceans.” It’s a song we wrote about dealing with loss and grief. We wrote it to help those that have lost someone close to them feel a little less alone.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
GRANT: You can expect an energetic and tight performance, leaving nothing on the table.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band in 5 years?
GRANT: Hopefully still playing shows and recording the music that we love.
