Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Death In Paradise.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
DEATH IN PARADISE: It depends on what you would like to know…mainly, for now..we are a three piece of scallywags who live for the music. We’re all from different countries…I’m from Trinidad and Tobago, my drummer Anton Aatamila is from Finland and the bass player, Luiz, is from Portugal…We’re based there at the moment, in Lisbon, but I am currently in the UK trying to get those bastards here now.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
DEATH IN PARADISE: Each of us come from quite unique backgrounds and influences…but mainly in the music, you can here a bit of Soundgarden, Guns N’ Roses, The Cult and A Perfect Circle….we do have a heavy and punk attitude also..so bands like Slayer, Rancid to NOFX are also big influences…
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
DEATH IN PARADISE: We’ve just released our single “Closer” with The Animal Farm Label….the song is from the yet to be released album “Sacrificing the Goat”….I think from the response I’ve been getting from fans and listeners, it’s more than I anticipated really! I guess one can say it’s a Balls out, car crashing, panty removing Rock track..
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
DEATH IN PARADISE: A Loud, uninhibited rock n roll show…no goat sacrifice onstage though! At least not yet (laughs) maybe if we ever open for Black Sabbath!
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
DEATH IN PARADISE: Playing the major festivals and shows alongside our favourite bands, being a prominent band and releasing more of Death in Paradise music. Thanks ☠️
