Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Ophelia’s Eye.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
OPHELIA’S EYE: We are a Swiss Melodic Death Metal / Metalcore band.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
OPHELIA’S EYE: We all have quite a different taste in Metal which surely influences our songwriting on an unconscious basis.
In terms of song structure, riffs, melodies and drive we would say our main influences are As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage and a bit of Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth since those bands are like a common ground in our band.
Regarding the sound production, Parkway Drive, In Flames and Periphery are our role models.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
OPHELIA’S EYE: Our latest and also first release is our EP “Fight for Us” which contains three songs and takes the listener on a musical journey with deep abysses and captivating riffs and show our enthusiasm and versatility.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
OPHELIA’S EYE: A lot of energy, enthusiasm and joy onstage and a captivating performance.
It is our goal that everyone can simply switch off and immerse themselves in our music, forgetting their everyday life for a while.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
OPHELIA’S EYE: Our goal is certainly to put out more music on a regular basis and of course to play at some festivals and great locations around the world to share our joy with as many people as possible.
