Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Gorethrone.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
GORETHRONE: We are a four piece band from Grand Rapids Michigan. Our sound is a combination of deathcore and black metal, we have the melodic parts of black metal and the brutal riffs of deathcore. We are not afraid to be IN YOUR FACE with heavy double stroke bass kicks and super sludgy low vocals..
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
GORETHRONE: Some of our main influences are Chelsea Grin, Slaughter to Prevail and Veil Of Maya to name a few.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
GORETHRONE: We just released our EP “The Descension.” You should check it for the sheer heaviness of songs like “Big High War God” and “Grim,” or the melodic songs like “Celestial Noose” and “Alpha.”
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
GORETHRONE: Expect to pit up for us! We will bring the energy, and our vocalist isn’t afraid to jump in there with you either.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
GORETHRONE: I see us releasing a full length album, doing plenty of shows, and getting on tours as well.
