Metallica File Lawsuit Against Insurer Over Cancelled 2020 South American Tour

According to City News Service, Metallica have sued insurer Lloyd’s Of London for allegedly refusing to cover losses they suffered after their South American tour was cancelled due to the pandemic. The band’s complaint was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and it says their “cancellation, abandonment and non-appearance insurance” policy was denied due to a policy that excludes communicable diseases. The group say the decision was “an unreasonably restrictive interpretation of the policy” and that the company have breached their contract. They are currently seeking “unspecified compensatory damages as well as a declaration of the rights and obligations of the parties.”
