Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Father Before Me.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
FATHER BEFORE ME: A melodic prog punk band from NYC. It’s my passion project and a sort of second chance at music for me.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
FATHER BEFORE ME: Oh man everything from skateboarding, to movies and comic books. Music from all over. Mainly punk/metal and jazz.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
FATHER BEFORE ME: The newest single “Until Lambs Become Lions” is an in your face prog/metal/skatepunk anthem that will get your spirits up and inspire you to keep moving forward even in the darkest of days.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
FATHER BEFORE ME: Lots of energy and sing alongs. We like to take even the farthest person in the crowd and make them feel like they are right up in front.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
FATHER BEFORE ME: Hopefully still playing music. If not just being happy.
