Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Fatality

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Fatality.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

FATALITY: We were formed in 2016 after Josh and Gareth created a project with ex-drummer Chris after their previous band split. We released our first EP (self titled) in late 2016. Matt was then recruited to play bass for us in time to write and record our second EP ‘Prey’ in 2018 with an early 2019 release. Chris decided to part ways with us in the summer of 2019 and in November we held a number of auditions in which we decided to invite Jordan into the Fatality family, completing our current lineup.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

FATALITY: We draw our influences from loads of different avenues. Musically some of those would be bands like Lamb Of God, Limp Bizkit, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Papa Roach, Slipknot, Linkin Park, (hed)p.e. etc. These are all bands that we’ve listened to and fell in love with over the years and they’re also bands that have touched us in one way or another with the messages they convey in their music. If we can put our messages across and help a small percentage of the numbers they have then we would be so happy.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

FATALITY: We released ‘Juggernaut’ in August to a great reception and we have just released our newest single ‘The Lesson’ on October 5th on all streaming platforms. We’re aiming to release a new single every one or two months until we’re allowed to play live shows again. We want to keep our audiences happy so while we cannot physically play for them we hope a few new releases will suffice.

‘The Lesson’ by Fatality is now available to stream on all platforms.

Josh (vocals) says “We wanted to go for a more laid back style of music with this track but still with a strong message and a nice heavy breakdown to go along with it. The Lesson is one of my favourite Fatality tracks to date. It’s about the human race, where we came from, what we were supposed to do and be and how we can change and be better to one another.”

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

FATALITY: When we’re actually allowed to play live shows again they can expect high energy, non-stop action and a band that really wants to connect to its audience. We pride ourselves on our live performances and how we enjoy it as much as the people standing in front of us are.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

FATALITY: We’d love to be playing bigger shows across more countries. Bringing our music worldwide would be an absolute dream for us! However with the current climate of live music we’d just be happy playing any live show again. We’ve missed it so much and to get back up on stage again would mean the world to us at the moment. We really can’t wait to be able to do it again!
