Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Know Your Enemy

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Know Your Enemy.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

KNOW YOUR ENEMY: We’re a Heavy Rock, Hip-Hop fusion band from Central New Jersey, based out of Somerville. Fonz Rodriguez is the singer and vocalist. Jason Kent is the guitarist and also does some vocals. Steven Bishop is our bassist and Byron Lapola is the drummer. We’re a tight knit group of friends churning out high energy, aggressive rock that’s inspired by real life and what’s actually going on as we see it.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

KNOW YOUR ENEMY: Our influences vary widely for each member, but some of the bands that overlap are He Is Legend, Deftones, Rage Against The Machine and Thrice.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

KNOW YOUR ENEMY: Our latest single is “Same”, released on July 17th. The song is real and pulls no punches. It’s a mix of genres and melodies that most people may not have experienced yet.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

KNOW YOUR ENEMY: To be thoroughly entertained. To get that feeling and energy that a lot of shows lack as of late. We give it our all, every single time.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

KNOW YOUR ENEMY: Well if the pandemic ever ends, we see ourselves touring full time. Playing bigger shows and festivals with the bands that we love.
