Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Mojo Alice

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Mojo Alice.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

MOJO ALICE: Mojo Alice are a rock band with a heavy blues groove all the way from Wellington New Zealand. The band are Jem Vox, Bro-d Guitar, Matty Ray, Bass and Me on the drums.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

MOJO ALICE: Well we collectively love a huge range of music, but AC/DC, Motörhead, Pantera, Gary Moore and Muddy Waters would be our main influences, because when we get together and write songs that’s kind of what comes out! Haha.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

MOJO ALICE: Liquid Sin was released in September 2019 and it is sonically arse kicking. We recorded old school live altogether in our HQ with no autotune, processors or any fake bullshit and you can feel the energy coming out of the speakers. It’s a balls to wall primal rock blues stomp from start to finish and has been well received all over the world. You can hear some of the songs on our Spotify page and buy the full album in digital version from www.mojoaliceband.com If you love loud beer drinking partying heavy blues rock this is for you!

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

MOJO ALICE: Well we don’t fuck about that’s for sure. You will get a professional in your face rock show with no gimmicks, just the four of us laying it down tight and heavy “Mojo Alice” style. There’s live clips on our Youtube channel which say it all!

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

MOJO ALICE: We would love to be fully professional making albums and touring.
