Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with We’re All Aliens.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
WE’RE ALL ALIENS: Born on the banks of the River Mersey and part forged in Paris, We’re All Aliens are here to save rock’n’roll, or at the very least encourage the further use of the apostrophe. We’re all made up of me (JJ, vocals), Biff (guitars), The Big A (drums) and Monsieur Laurent Baruqc (bass).
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
WE’RE ALL ALIENS: We’ve been described as sounding a bit like Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry, which is interesting because I wouldn’t have mentioned them as possible influences. When I listen back to the album I can hear The Cult, Audioslave, Mötley Crüe, Velvet Revolver, The Who, Queen and even U2. There’s a bit of groove in there too, so many a hint of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Prince too.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
WE’RE ALL ALIENS: The current single is ‘Second Chances’ the third and final single off our debut album ‘Get A Life’ which was released in February. The whole album is reflective of the influences mentioned earlier, so if you like big ass melodic rock songs with a hint of 80’s and 90’s influence, because that’s where we mined for our favourite music, then there will be something for you.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
WE’RE ALL ALIENS: Well currently there are no live shows due to the pandemic, but when we return, expect a huge rock n roll church in which we lead the congregation in collective worship.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
WE’RE ALL ALIENS: Hopefully to bigger and better things. A wider audience. Being able to say that we remain a viable entity, commercially and creatively. Playing to great crowds around the world whilst washing our face!
