Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Under The Tongue

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Under The Tongue.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

UNDER THE TONGUE: Hey Metal Anarchy, first of all thanks for having us here we appreciate it. We are an independent rock band situated in Berlin. Mark Eden vocals, guitar, drums & programming from Australia and Julia Eden vocals, bass & piano from Berlin. We started in 2008 in Berlin after Julia came to one of my solo shows. She is a big fan of all things Australia and decided she would check it out. Anyway, to cut a long story short she contacted me over Myspace….yep remember that. Julia said that she like the gig and of course I had to check out her profile and it stated that she played piano, bass and could also sing. That was exactly what I was looking for at the time, so I contacted her and we have been together ever since. We have release 2 albums and are releasing our 3rd album ‘Art Of Perception’ song by song this year, starting with the single ‘Waterfall.’

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

UNDER THE TONGUE: Our influences are many and range from Puscifer, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes and Cat Stevens to name a few.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

UNDER THE TONGUE: Our latest release is ‘Waterfall.’ It was released on June 5th with the video due to be released on July 3rd. I think that readers of this site would definitely have an open mind but are drawn to the heavier side of music. The song is a stomper with huge drums and guitars and some great vocal chants….we hope you love it as much as we do.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

UNDER THE TONGUE: Live we like to get people movin’ and rockin’ to the music as well as participating. The participation side of things is a very important part of UTT shows. Big drums, huge grooves and singalong choruses, if that’s your thing then you will love it.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

UNDER THE TONGUE: In 5 years we hope to have traveled the world with our music, made 3 new albums with over 30 videos and had loads of fun doing it. That’s the plan 🙂

Cheers, Under The Tongue
