Pelican Postpone June Tour, Release New Live Album

Pelican have postponed their June tour with Inter Arma due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite this, there is some good news as the band have just released a new live album titled “Live at The Grog Shop” via Bandcamp. That effort was recorded during the group’s September 15, 2019 set at the Grog Shop in Cleveland, Ohio.

Pelican commented:

“It will come as no surprise that we are forced to postpone our June tour with INTER ARMA due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This decision was not reached lightly – sharing this music with people in the live environment is sacred for us; it brings a special sense of purpose and catharsis to our lives that we depend upon.

As a very minor consolation, we are sharing a new live album recorded at the Grog Shop in Cleveland of last year via our Bandcamp page. We’d been planning to share a recording from the Nighttime Stories tour at some point and now seems to be the moment – with no definitive sense of when we’ll be able to perform together again, we felt compelled to make this available now.

We’ve also made all out remaining shirts from recent tours available on the same page – all shirts come with an automatic download of the live album.

We hope we can revisit these songs in front of audiences again soon. Until then, please take care of yourselves; stay safe, stay healthy.”
