Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Prison City Brigade.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
PRISON CITY BRIGADE: We are a punk rock/metal band based out of Joliet, IL. The band started in late 2013 and throughout the years with lineup changes we keep growing and pushing the limits of what we can do.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
PRISON CITY BRIGADE: We are all around to be honest. We love everything from Blink-182 and Streetlight Manifesto, to Face To Face, Wednesday 13, Alexisonfire, to Dream Theater, to Avatar and more.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
PRISON CITY BRIGADE: “Rough Skeletons” is our latest release which dropped just on February 22nd of 2020. Each song is different than the last utilizing our creative backgrounds and influences. We wanted to do our own thing with punk ya know. If you don’t like one you can go to the next. The songs go a little deeper with lyrics about going through hardships, mental health, and trying to keep pushing forward whether telling yourself or a loved one.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
PRISON CITY BRIGADE: We do whatever we can to bring high energy to the stage for our fans and meeting new people coming out, welcoming them into our rowdy family with debauchery, love and a good time.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
PRISON CITY BRIGADE: Hopefully still going and playing music and touring, to be honest, we never thought we’d make it this far.
