A new biopic focusing on the plane crash that claimed the lives of several members of Lynyrd Skynyrd has received an official release date. The movie, which is titled “Street Survivors: The True Story Of The Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash,” will premiere at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival on February 16, before hitting theaters in the spring. It will also receive a video and on demand release on June 30, along with the soundtrack. The film focuses on the crash from the perspective of former drummer Artimus Pyle, who survived the horrific incident. He commented:
“This film’s story – MY story – is not just about the plane crash but also about my personal relationship with the genius that was Ronnie Van Zant – whom I loved like a brother and still miss to this day.”
