Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Wall Of The Fallen

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Emilio Lujan of Wall Of The Fallen.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

LUJAN: Tyler and I started the band back in ‘09 when we were still in high school. Jake came through in 2015 and actually moved to our hometown like 3 hours away from his stomping grounds. We all moved to Denver and recently joined forces with Sev and Zach. Since they’ve been in the band, we’ve toured, played some of the biggest in town shows Denver has to offer, and released our latest record “Of Wild Growth and Pestilence.”

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

LUJAN: We all have completely different influences when it comes to music. Little of that inspiration is metal too. We mainly get inspired by spending time jamming and vibing out. We are a productive bunch of guys, so productivity is our main inspiration.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

LUJAN: We just released our newest record “Of Wild Growth and Pestilence.” We recorded with Joshua Wickman at Dreadcore Studios (King 810, Enterprise Earth, Within the Ruins, Forty Fathoms) so as far as production, it’s incredible. There’s a little bit of anything for everyone. Breakdowns, solos, amazing lyrical content, incredible artwork, riffs, blast beats, heavy music, and beautiful rhythms. We recorded the album when we were at a real low point in all of our lives, and you can hear it. It’s an unique piece of work, and we’re so proud of it.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

LUJAN: That’s where the magic happens! As much as we love the record, our passion is for live music. We’re as aggressive as our sound when it comes to live playing. It’s very hard to stand still when we play.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

LUJAN: Tour tour tour. We want to be on the move, and spread the hate. This is our passion, and we’re going to keep it going as long as we can.
