Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Sharone.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your music:

SHARONE: I make dark rock music. I started playing shows on my own about five years ago and eventually started playing with a full band. At first my music was very geared towards a pop and ballad sound, but after putting together a lineup of backing musicians I began writing more rock-influenced music. I’ve grown towards a gothic and hard rock sound over time, with energetic and theatrical shows.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

SHARONE: Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Halestorm, and In This Moment.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

SHARONE: I released my new album Reflection on December 7th. Back in April I released the first single from the album called “Cold”. It’s a fantastic embodiment of the direction of the rest of the album. My previous release, Enchiridion of Nightmares, was so special to me, but not quite what I was going for musically. This record is the exact sound I’ve been working toward over the last few years, finally coming into fruition. “Cold” demonstrates that perfectly. The next single from the album, “Turn Back Time” was released on October 25th.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

SHARONE: I put a lot of thought into my live performances. I’ve always believed that it’s one thing to sit at home and listen to an album, but it’s a whole other ballgame to go to a live rock show. When people go to a show, they want to see a show. I put my whole body and soul into each of my performances. I incorporate props, dancers, theatrical monologues, and as many backbends as my body will allow me.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

SHARONE: I have high expectations. I see myself touring with one of the bands I look up to five years from now. Probably sitting on at least two or three more albums.
