According to Bloomberg Law, Metallica have officially won their trademark fight against Chilean businessman Horacio Mardones. The battle was related to a trademark that was “graphically and phonetically identical” to Metallica’s. Mardones originally registered the trademark for clothing and footwear, but the Chilean Supreme Court has now annulled it. This means the band will now be free to sell their own merchandise in Chile for the first time in years.
