GWAR have announced that they will be unveiling a new memorial marker for the late Dave “Oderus Urungus” Brockie at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA at 02:00 PM on August 30. That day would have been the frontman’s 56th birthday. The unveiling will be open to the public and a free party will be held at the GWARbar the following day (August 31). RAWG, aka “the greatest GWAR tribute band of all time,” will perform at the party. GWAR commented:
“We thank the many people who donated time and money to make this a reality. We hope the marker will provide a long-needed place for Brockie‘s friends, family, and fans to pay their respects to this wonderful and deeply talented human being, and of course, to Dave‘s famous creation; Oderus Urungus, who will always be remembered as one of the greatest frontmen in rock and roll history.”
