Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With One Steel Wound

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with One Steel Wound.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

ONE STEEL WOUND: We’re a 3 piece metal band from Chicago that work with some of the best regional drummers. We’ve been finding our musical lane in the Chicago scene since 2013 by doing several shows in the midwest, circulating an EP at shows, and officially releasing an 8-track album. Since then, we’ve grown musically and as individual musicians. You can find our 2015 8-track album online at Bandcamp.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

ONE STEEL WOUND: Lamb Of God, Disturbed, System Of A Down, Korn, Slipknot, EL-P.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

ONE STEEL WOUND: Our latest release is our single “In Chains”. We’ve become emotionally distant with past releases and feel the most involved and more proud of this track and the songs we’re currently writing. We think it’s our best effort to date and we’re even more stoked for the future tracks as well. This is why we all consider 2019 as the beginning of One Steel Wound, everything before was beta-testing.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

ONE STEEL WOUND: A lot of sweat, screaming, and at the end of it… great vibes.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

ONE STEEL WOUND: We’ll have plenty of banging songs, selling rad merch, and hope to be on a sick tour as main support for an artist that we respect and dig.
