Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Prime

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Prime.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

PRIME: We are Prime (UK Band) from Nottingham, UK. A four-piece mix of heavy rock n’ roll, classic punk and 70s glam with a heavy 60s influence.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

PRIME: On our newer material the likes of Led Zepellin, David Bowie and Iggy Pop are huge influences. Our early works which we be putting on our brand new compilation are more based in the punk and new wave sounds of the Ramones, The Clash and The Stones, with ska and some heavy basslines chucked in for good measure.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

PRIME: We have a new compilation (which should be out by the time your readers see this), called “Art/Facts 2014-2018” and it features a mix of heavy classic rock like “To Be Or Not To Be” and “In Summer” with the likes of singles “Bye Bye”, and even some unreleased acoustic and live material, like “Free N Easy” and “Teen TV”.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

PRIME: Heavy, hard hitting solos, good solid vocal harmonies and chaotic rock vibes. We don’t leave many stones unturned to try and entertain a crowd.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

PRIME: Straight into oblivion, over a cliff. If not, to bigger stages and festivals than we’ve played already. That will do us nicely.

Prime (UK Band) – “Art/Facts” 2014 – 2018 is out now – see , , and their new website for details. Lee performs at the o2 Academy Leicester alongside Chris D Bramley and TRAPS on March 2nd 2019.
