Artists Claim PledgeMusic Owes Them Thousands Of Dollars

According to a new report over at Billboard, PledgeMusic has been behind on payments causing artists to lose out on money that fans have sent them through the crowdfunding service. In fact, some musicians have claimed that they are still owed thousands of dollars.

Among those affected is ohGr, the industrial project featuring Nivek Ogre (Skinny Puppy). The group used the platform to fund their album “TrickS“ and they are still owed about $100,000. The article goes on to say ohGr finished the effort in spring 2018 and once the digital files were delivered to PledgeMusic, the company started to become unresponsive about payments. This resulted in the band having to delay the physical copies of the album. It did receive a digital release in July, but the band were forced to tour without a physical product.

Similar things have happened to a number of other artists, including ones who were paid months after their campaigns ended and others that are still waiting. You can read more from them at Billboard.

As for PledgeMusic, they issued the following statement:

“We accept responsibility for the fact that we have been late on payments over the past year. PledgeMusic is working tirelessly on this issue, and we are asking our community for their continued support and patience.”

Despite this, Queensrÿche, Filter, and more are still running campaigns on the service.
