Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Eat Sleep Catapult

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Eat Sleep Catapult.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

EAT SLEEP CATAPULT: We are Eat Sleep Catapult from murder capital, Saint Louis, Missouri. We are a 5-piece Pop/Punk band that specializes in high energy live shows and catchy songs. We consist of Rease (singer), Dan and Jacob (guitars), Scott (drummer) and Tyler (bassist).

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

EAT SLEEP CATAPULT: We have been told we sound akin to All Time Low or Blink-182. However, we have a lot of influences which include Tyler the Creator, Deftones, At The Gates, Miles Davis and Fall Out Boy.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

EAT SLEEP CATAPULT: Oh man! We don’t know if it would matter much to the reader but we’d be STOKED if they’d check out our music. On the surface, it’s kinda basic catchy Pop-Punk music – but upon further listening you’ll hear that we have a lot of jazz pieces of music intertwined. We are releasing new music this season that’s guaranteed to be heavier for the people that just don’t find our current releases to be their cup of tea. We have replay value, people!

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

EAT SLEEP CATAPULT: A lot of lights and jumping, kicking, people. Dan has a collection of lasers and lights he likes to showcase at our shows and in our pictures you can see light shooting out of practically every orifice at some point. We also like to make lame jokes with the crowd and hang from the ceiling at shows shirtless during huge choruses. We like to have fun and do so when everyone is having fun. That’s kinda why we do what we do.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band in 5 years?

EAT SLEEP CATAPULT: 5 years is a LONG time for a band so I’d expect we’d be charting somewhere along the line by then. Never in a million years, but we’d love to open for Tyler the Creator or Taking Back Sunday. maybe in 5 years we’d have them open for us? Haha, unlikely but we can dream! Thank you so much for your time guys, Check out our EP “Little Did You Know?…” out on every streaming service possible, including iTunes and Youtube.
