Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Divided Minds vocalist/guitarist Sean Collins.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
COLLINS: We’re a pop-punk/hardcore-ish band from Phoenix Arizona. We’ve been playing for 4 years now, and we are signed to We are Triumphant records.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
COLLINS: Definitely, bands like A Day To Remember, Silverstein, and The Wrecks are our biggest influences.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
COLLINS: Our latest release is our debut EP: Mood Swings. You should check it out because it’s a trip. It doesn’t adhere to any one genre and each song is unique in its own way. Each song is catchy as hell and there are a couple of good riffs in there.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
COLLINS: Our live shows are pure energy and crowd participation. We make sure everyone is jumping or bobbing or singing along. We’ve designed the setlist in a way to keep the energy up the whole time except for the acoustic break when we get all feelsy about two thirds in. then it’s straight back into the energy.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
COLLINS: We definitely want to see the world and play everywhere we can. Really all we want is to make enough money to be able to support ourselves touring all over the place and sharing our music as far and wide as we can.
