Queens Of The Stone Age recently played a live cover of Elton John‘s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” in Inglewood, CA, and now we know why. It turns out, the group recorded a cover of the track for an upcoming Elton John tribute album called “Revamp.” It will be released on April 6, and will also include artists like The Killers, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and more. Another tribute album, titled “Restoration,” will be released that day as well, and it will mainly feature country artists like Willie Nelson, Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, etc. Queens Of The Stone Age‘s contribution comes after John previously guested on the band‘s 2013 song “Fairweather Friends.“
