Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with New Language.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
NEW LANGUAGE: We draw influences from all over the map but I’d say the ones that shine through New Language include, Deftones, Queens Of The Stone Age, Refused, Norma Jean, ATDI, Glassjaw, Brand New, Thrice, etc….
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
NEW LANGUAGE: Our latest release is an EP called “Everbody Screams.” We worked with Alex Newport for production / mixing / engineering and think it’s a great progression from our first record. We have a few new songs coming out soon as well so be sure to check those as they come.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
NEW LANGUAGE: Playing live is a weird sort of primal therapy for us. It’s a big energy release through movement and performance and we hope the crowd can feel that energy and feel encouraged to reciprocate.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
NEW LANGUAGE: I see us continuing down our creative path and creating music we’re proud of, curating art around the band, and playing lively shows with a few more frequent visits to the chiropractor in between.
