Marilyn Manson On Sexual Misconduct In The Entertainment Industry: “I Just Think That If You Have Something To Say, You Should Say It To The Police And Not The Press”

During an interview with Channel 4 News, Marilyn Manson offered his opinions on the sexual misconduct allegations within the entertainment industry. One thing he was adamant about is the idea that the victims are better off going to the police, rather than trying to take things to the media. You can watch the full interview below, with the sexual misconduct conversation starting at the 31:00 mark.

Manson says he doesn’t “want it to turn the whole world’s attention from the artistic element of Hollywood and movies and films be ruined by this.”

He also went on to say that some accusations are “serious” and some are “not as serious”:

“When someone starts complaining about something that happened that seems a little bit not as serious as really sexual assault, I think it’s insulting to people that have been sexually assaulted. It pisses me off that when someone says, ‘Someone gave me an inappropriate gift.’ That’s not the same as being harmed.”

He also added the following about going to the police and his disagreement with the way his ex-fiancé Rose McGowan has handled things:

“I just think that if you have something to say, you should say it to the police and not the press and handle it that way first and foremost … I disagree with how [McGowen is] handling it. I just disagree with the entire snowball effect that’s happened with it. It could ruin a lot of people’s lives that don’t need to be ruined.”
