Warrel Dane (Nevermore, Sanctuary) has tragically passed away after suffering an apparent heart attack, while working on a new solo album in São Paulo, Brazil. He was 56, but it is worth noting that his Wikipedia page erroneously listed him as 48, before correcting it. R.I.P.

His guitarist Johnny Moraes told UOL the following:
“He died in the night, he had a heart attack, he was in the apartment where he stayed while recording the album, when it happened. I did a cardiac massage, we called the SAMU, who arrived very fast, but when they arrived he was already dead.”
He also added:
“His health was already very weak because of his diabetes and his problems with alcoholism. He was already facing a lot of health problems.”
The band was nearly done recording the new album, and had recently started the vocal sessions.
