Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with The Time Framed.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
THE TIME FRAMED: We’re an experimental rock trio. Our members like magic, video games, steam punk anything, gothic aesthetics, and pirates so we tend to put elements of those things into our music and merch. A live set will go from telling a story fit for a fantasy novel into expressing our metaphysical viewpoints in no time but we also have music based on real life issues we’ve encountered such as domestic abuse and overcoming addictions. On record we tend to blend those elements in whatever balance is best for the overall story of the album.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
THE TIME FRAMED: Tera Melos because of their weird noises, Nothing More for their stage antics, The Mars Volta and their concept albums, and Joe Satriani for his musicality and improvisation.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
THE TIME FRAMED: Chrono Dementia is the title of our brand new EP. Your readers should check it out because we will take them on an adventure! For most people, music is an escape and we feel that this EP gives the listener a chance to rise above their daily grind and come back down with good vibes.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
THE TIME FRAMED: Energy! We create our own space when we take the stage. Our drummer (Brandon) is super intense and has some mind blowing rhythms and fills. Britt the bass player loves to go hang out in the audience while riding the groove and our guitar player (Jeremy, also the main vocalist) has a habit of coming up with new ways to entertain people every time we play. You never get the same show twice but getting the crowd to have a good time is the most important thing to us.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
THE TIME FRAMED: In 5 years we would like to have 3 – 5 more EP’s under our belt as well as 2 or 3 full length albums. We already have more material than we really know what to do with so that shouldn’t be hard! Going on multiple tours across the states is definitely on the list and I’d like to think that we would be looking to book a tour in Europe or Japan if we haven’t already by then. In light those thoughts, it would be really nice to find ourselves a label that works with similarly unique bands like say Sargent House. Lastly, our guitarist wrote an epic 30 minute song inspired by pirates, existential madness, tarot cards, and Cassandra Gemini by The Mars Volta so having that ready to perform cover to cover in 5 years or less would make us very happy!
