Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Heat Of Damage

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Heat Of Damage.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

HEAT OF DAMAGE: Heat Of Damage was created in 2013, and is based in Sacramento, CA. Our music is traditionally described as Hard Rock/Metal, but we are proud of a unique style that sets us apart when listening to your favorite heavy tracks. Music is our passion, and we do not limit ourselves, so each song is an independent creation with roots in the bands that inspire us and Hard Rock/Metal as a whole.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

HEAT OF DAMAGE: We are influenced by artists old and new. We are big fans of bands such as Killswitch Engage and Trivium who are relatively newer, but also have roots from legends like Metallica. Also, can’t forget our hometown greats Deftones and Papa Roach!

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

HEAT OF DAMAGE: Our latest release is our single “The Gift,” released in June of this year, 2017. The music video for “The Gift” was just released September 1st. We think readers of a site described as about “things associated with rock and metal” will absolutely dig the song and accompanying video. The song is heavy, with intensity and melody, and the video has energetic performance shots punctuated by a dark, intense ode to film noir.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

HEAT OF DAMAGE: We think of shows as something you do with an audience, not just to an audience, so we try to engage as many people from onstage as we can. People can expect heavy music, engagement, and a rowdy good time. We also like to introduce ourselves personally to as many people as possible as a ‘thank you’ for their attendance.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

HEAT OF DAMAGE: In five years, we hope to be touring regularly and extensively. Ideally we will have fans at all corners of the country who come to see us, and international fans as well. (Looking at you, Europe).
