Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Hogan’s Goat

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Hogan’s Goat.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little bit about your band:

HOGAN’S GOAT: Hogan’s Goat out of Nashville, TN is a collective of folks from Montana, Texas, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Our name is from old folklore about a goat who was known to be smelled miles away. Ugly creature. Our band is against the grain, and we don’t really fit in to any scene. Just how we like it.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

HOGAN’S GOAT: The list varies by day. Right now From Mastodon to Guns N’ Roses. ASG’s latest record is really cool. We listen to a bit of everything.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

HOGAN’S GOAT: Hogan’s Goat is set to release July 18th. It’s our debut LP. “You might like it, you might hate it. I don’t fuckin’ know what you like.” – Wayne

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

HOGAN’S GOAT: Our main focus while writing is to make sure it translates well during our live sets. However, the energy is always high and spontaneous. You never know what we might do.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

HOGAN’S GOAT: Hopes are high. We’d like to tour the world, and are doing everything we can to make that happen.
