Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Russian rocker Moscow.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
MOSCOW: My musical influences are really all over the place: everything from musical theater to classic rock to hip hop. As a band, I’d say we’re not afraid to mix genres. Motley Crüe is one of our all time favorite bands; post-hardcore bands like Asking Alexandria, Falling in Reverse, and Escape the Fate have impacted us as well.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
MOSCOW: We just dropped our debut EP, “Queen Of Sin”. It’s particularly broad in sound, with both classic rock ballads, some alternative Rob Zombie sounds, post-hardcore tracks, etc.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
MOSCOW: I LOVE playing live shows. Connecting with the audience in real life is an amazing experience and one of the highlights of this path for me. We always deliver a great performance—remember, Motley Crue, Papa Roach, and Linkin Park are major influences for us– so ‘the show’ is a big part of Moscow. Come check it out for yourself!
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
MOSCOW: Touring the world and recording new music, however banal it sounds, this is our job, now, and I love every single second of it. We’re currently working on some fun collaborations and features, so keep your eyes open for the surprises.
