Metallica’s Grammys performance with Lady Gaga was pretty much a disaster due to them not even getting announced, and the fact the James Hetfield’s mic was turned off. However, Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich has since apologized.

Ehrlich told Associated Press the following:
“These kinds of things are horrible when they happen. That’s one of the risks of live television.”
“My guys say that the mic cable was connected. My guys’ theory was that … one of the extras (on stage) accidentally kicked out the cable that went to the mic.”
“Obviously, we apologize to the band.”
In other news, a new preview has been posted for Apple Music‘s “Carpool Karaoke” series. Some of the footage in the trailer features Metallica singing Rihanna‘s “Diamonds”. This show is a spin off of the “The Late Late Show With James Corden” and it will feature various hosts, including Billy Eichner who hosted the band’s episode.
