It looks like a film based on Green Day’s classic 2004 album “American Idiot” is finally on its way to becoming a reality. Billie Joe Armstrong told NME that HBO has given the movie the “green light,” and that he will star as St. Jimmy, as he previously did in the Broadway version. Armstrong said the following:
“That’s the plan right now, yeah We’ve got a green light from HBO, and the script is currently going through a couple of rewrites here and there, so I’m not sure when exactly we’re going to start shooting, but it’s definitely all systems go at the moment.”
