I’ve been following this AC/DC story for awhile and there seemed to be a back and forth thing going on, but now it is safe to say that all the retirement rumors are just rumors, but the band may be continuing without a key member.
On the official AC/DC Facebook page they posted the following:
“After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health. Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support.
In light of this news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family’s privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music.”
Billboard reported yesterday that “insiders” told them that there was no validity to the rumors, and they were right. Apparently, an anonymous tipster started the whole thing after sending an email to Perth radio station 6PR. So the rumors are indeed false.
