Kid Rock is facing backlash related to his 2001 song “Cool, Daddy Cool.“ The track, which appeared on the soundtrack for “Osmosis Jones,” resurfaced due to its gross references to underage girls.

The offending lyrics said the following:
“On my cell phone, I’m paid, G, can’t call me, just page me
Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage, see
Some say that’s statutory, but I say it’s mandatory”
Despite the controversy, Rock is still scheduled to perform during Turning Point USA’s “All-American American Halftime Show” on February 8. The event, which also features Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, was put together for right-wingers angry about Bad Bunny and Green Day’s upcoming Super Bowl performances in Santa Clara, CA.
However, Rock’s lyrics are seen as hypocritical considering Turning Point billed their show as an “American faith, family and freedom” event. Critics also pointed towards the singer’s support of United States president and convicted felon Donald Trump, who was accused of pedophila and more horrifying acts in the recently released Epstein files.
Rock has yet to address the controversy, but he did announce a new tour in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Here’s the dates:

[…] Notably, the lip syncing accusation wasn’t the only controversy. Turning Point USA, who put the show together for the MAGA crowd protesting Bad Bunny and Green Day’s Super Bowl performances, claimed it was an “American faith, family and freedom” event. However, many found that label to be hypocritical due to Rock’s past lyrics about underage girls. […]
