Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Doctors Of Space.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
DOCTORS OF SPACE: We are a duo. We started off as a heavy psychedelic- space rock band for the first 5 years or so but Martin (Dark, Wicked Lady) has stopped playing electric guitar so our we play a more experimental electronic based music now with didgeridoo, acoustic guitar, drum machines, and lots of synths and custom home made synths that Martin makes..
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
We are older musicians so we have experienced a lot. We love classic 60s and 70s bands the most but we are into all kinds of music from Hawkwind to Iron Maiden to Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, etc…
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
DOCTORS OF SPACE: Our latest album is called “Fusing your Synapses” and it is 70min musical journey which mixes some of our older heavy spaced out guitar driven music with our more recent electronic experiments. We are very happy with it..
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
DOCTORS OF SPACE: Before 2022, the rare live shows were intense space rock shows with lots of heavy guitars and spaced out synths but today, we set up with Martin playing drum machines and home made synths and I play the keyboards and synths. Our shows are almost entirely improvised.
Here are a couple of links to recent gigs.
Here’s one of our heavy rock songs:
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
DOCTORS OF SPACE: That is pretty difficult to chart but I feel like we are moving thru some really experimental stuff at the moment, industrial electronica of sorts but it is hard to know really… I do not think we will return to the heavy rock again unless we get another guitar player. Never know. Thanks for the chat. Peace..
