Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Hollow Zoo

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Hollow Zoo.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

HOLLOW ZOO: Arising from the depths of the underworld in Sin City, Hollow Zoo was founded with the goal of making kick ass music. With the addition of our vocalist in 2023, we were able to go from writing half done songs to completing our debut album early this year. We follow one simple rule when it comes to music, we play what we want. It’s a band that was built on one concept – we’ll never do what anyone else tells us to do if it’s not what we want to do.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

HOLLOW ZOO: I think we all draw influences from a lot of places, movies, music, books, life experiences, pop culture. I think if you asked us all of us would have a different answer as to our influences when it comes to those things, especially music. All of us have worked in the music industry in various roles in the past so there are a lot of bands we have taken inspiration from but at the end of the day our music really comes from a place of collaboration between the members.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

HOLLOW ZOO: We have several singles out and our Debut album “T.V. Static and Hate” dropped on August 9th. Our music has been called, “intense, heavy, melodic, cunningly crafted, utterly captivating, and undeniably addictive to listen to”. If that sounds like a band your readers would enjoy, they should give us a listen. We appreciate every person who takes a listen even the ones who decide we aren’t for them.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

HOLLOW ZOO: Lot’s of energy and an ever-evolving live show with lots of visuals and versions of our songs they won’t hear on the albums. All of us have experience in the music industry so we know what it takes to put on a great live show.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

HOLLOW ZOO: We’ll have to consult the magic eight ball and get back to you on that. Jokes aside we started Hollow Zoo to be more than just music, we have a comic book coming out with the album in August. We have several self-produced music videos and we expect to make a lot more over the next few years. So, I think in five years we will have a great variety of Hollow Zoo media for people to interact with and hopefully enjoy.
