On August 2, Silly Goose vocalist Jackson Foster was arrested for criminal trespassing during an impromptu performance at a BP gas station in Chicago, IL. The band were in the city after performing at the Lollapalooza festival.

Foster said the following about the incident:

“I got arrested Saturday night at the BP. Sunday night we went right across the street with a sign and a speaker to keep getting the word out there. Stream the new songs ‘Keys to the City’ and ‘Now Dance.’”

He later added:

“To anyone who is curious: I got charged with criminal trespassing (which is bs because the employees at the gas station gave us permission to play there) and I”ll be back in Chicago September 2nd to appear in court. I”ll post a full video explaining once I get home.”

UPDATE: A GoFundMe campaign has since been launched to assist with legal fees. Foster said the following about that:

“My name is Jackson Foster and I’m the vocalist of Silly Goose. On Thursday, July 31st we played Lollapalooza and it was legendary. Then on Saturday night after lollapalooza, we played a show on top of our van at the BP outside the festival to continue to raise awareness for our upcoming record “Keys To The City”. We had received permission from the manager and we had even done the same thing the previous year. He was going to let us play in front of gas pump 2 and 4 for one hour in exchange for $100.

All of a sudden the cops showed up and that didn’t seem to matter. Nobody got hurt, we were just playing music, and when the cops got there, we stopped playing. I got off of the van and was immediately put in handcuffs and brought to jail with little to no explanation. I spent the night in jail and received a criminal trespass charge. After speaking with my team, this is the amount of money we predict that we will need for legal fees and hiring an attorney. It is crucial we get this charge off of my record so that we can tour overseas in the future. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!”
