Statue Of Late Motörhead Frontman Lemmy Kilmister To Be Unveiled In Stoke-On-Trent, UK Next Week

The late great Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) is set to be honored with a new statue in Stoke-On-Trent, UK. The sculpture was created by artist Andy Edwards and it will be unveiled during a ceremony in the Burslem town center on May 9 around 4:00 p.m. Notably, Phil Campbell will be on hand to place Lemmy’s ashes in the statue.

Those who show up early will be able to get Motörhead beverages at the Old Post Office bar and Ale House. The Market Place Café will have refreshments as well. This includes a special Motörhead roast.

Furthermore, a biker’s corteo will occur during the ashes ceremony. Fans can also expect various speakers and a 21-rev salute. The day will also include a number of other things:

* The Bare Walls Art Gallery next to the statue will be displaying an installation featuring rarely seen photographs of Lemmy in their space along with other memorabilia.

* Later in the evening, Grumpy’s bar will host “A Night Of Music To Celebrate The Life Of Lemmy”, hosting the MOTÖRHEAD tribute band MOTÖRWRECKED, as well as hosting an auction of exclusive items supplied by MOTÖRHEAD’s record label and merchandise companies. A very limited number of wristbands for the auction will be available on a first-come-first-served basis to purchase on the day from the event office, which can be found at The Old Post Office Bar priced at £10.
