Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Heartsick

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Heartsick.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

HEARTSICK: Emerging out of the Midwest and finally ready to take the whole of the US by storm, Heartsick is a band of brothers, consisting of Alfonso Civile on vocals, Jerred Pruneau on guitar, Waylon Fox on bass and Barak Haring on drums.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

HEARTSICK: As 4 individuals are tastes differ in some ways but meet up in other ways. Where our tastes Align are with bands such as Deftones, Chvrches, Kublai Khan, Most 80s synth wave bands, Killswitch Engage, Every Time I Die, Poison The Well, System of A Down, Slipknot, Korn. I would say all of these bands have influenced all of us strongly in some way and those bands I think permeate the root of where our sound comes from.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

HEARTSICK: Our latest release is called ‘Sleep Cycles’ (The song not the record) We have a record named ‘Sleep Cycles’ that came out in 2019 but our song ‘Sleep Cycles’ is new and out right now. As well as our covers EP with some select covers from the 90s and another new song named ‘Tryst.’

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

HEARTSICK: A work out. We are a very interactive live band. We want you to join us in jumping, clapping, cheering, crowd surfing. All the things that make rock concerts such a unique experience.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

HEARTSICK: To Europe for our first headlining tour 😉
