Nonpoint’s Elias Soriano Says Robb Rivera’s Recent Health Scare Was Related To Caffeine And Stress

As previously reported, Nonpoint cut their January 12 show at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, KY short after drummer Robb Rivera was sent to the hospital with an elevated heart rate. Now, vocalist Elias Soriano has further addressed the situation, saying it was related to caffeine and stress.

Soriano told Outlander Media the following:

“Robb’s [doing] good. Robb’s a hundred percent. He’s fine. It was a little spell. It was a perfect storm — a mix of a couple of different things. He normally doesn’t drink caffeinated coffee, and that day he had gone down to the local coffee shop and had a couple of cups of coffee that were not decaf, because they did not have decaf at the time.

And then that mixed with just the stress, the stress of the show, and blood sugar. The doctor said he was low on magnesium and potassium, so he’s just gotta hydrate right, make sure he doesn’t drink caffeine before a show. And he performed last night — no problems, no issues.

You’re getting older, and the older you get, your body doesn’t work the same. So, normally, two cups of coffee and a little stress normally would have done it, but…”
