As previously reported, former Ill Niño vocalist Marcos Leal recently lashed out the band for failing to release their new double EP “IllMortals.” As such, guitarist Jes De Hoyos has now responded, leading to another bitter exchange.

De Hoyos said the following:

“Every claim that this puto has made can be attributed to personal gain. If he gave af about the fans, releasing the albums would be irrelevant because the fans that preordered the record were refunded. Na, he wants the record to be released because it would be released by a band that’s bigger than anything he’s ever been part of and it helps his current bands have any kind of press.

He’s never been an original member to any of the bands that have gained any sort of traction. This mf is a serial fill in. As far as why them 15 year friendships are no more, it’s because he used us to leverage money out of the boss, without our consent and without us even knowing about it while putting targets on all our backs. That aside, he knew we had a brother coming out of rehab for alcoholism, just before an upcoming tour and he knew that that same brother was told that if he didn’t stop drinking, he would die, in months.

The rest of us agreed to do a sober run to give him a fighting chance and the mf refused to go 4 weeks without drinking to help a brother. No one said he couldn’t drink when he went home, it was just while we were on tour. Don’t let the tears of a fuckin lloron fool you. He brought this down on himself. This is how he treats people he claims are family to him. THAT is why the ‘friendships of 15 years’ were the cost. He’s not the good, honest man, with good morals that everyone thinks he is. That’s why he’s no longer in the circle. If y’all only knew the shit that goes on within his own household and family..hell his own family doesn’t know the shit he did on tour. Like I said before, ‘I’m doing more for that mf by keeping his secrets than anyone knows’. We’ve got receipts too.

For the fucking record, I did one side of the guitars (typically, two sides, left and right), you hear on ‘Mascara’ and the Selena cover, ‘Si Una Vez’, Which was embarrassing vocally. The other songs were written and tracked by Dave and the producer before I joined the band. If this mf is as good as he claims, why does he need to be associated with ill Nino to promote them? ‘Former singer of Ill Nino.’”

Leal then fired back:

Really fuckin scummy move to bring up Sals hardships with rehab but since he decided to air that bit of dirty laundry… Only reason he was back was to take sals spot and the only reason he’s still there cause he is cheaper than Marc Rizzo! Facts!

‘Sals not gonna learn his lesson until it’s too late’ your words not mine I was always there for Sal always and honestly your not worth dragging him through the mud just so you don’t look like a dumb ass with your post.

And where’s Dave in all this, hiding behind his fill ins post! This is what manipulation and alittle bit of money and clout does, turns friends against eachother!

I’m sorry Dave never let you play or write anything the new record, It’s not that you weren’t good enough, your great, it’s cause he didn’t wanna pay you the money that we are currently fighting over now!

Face facts my friend your in same boat as me with way less to show for it and no ground to argue anything, that’s why your ‘boss’ lol entered into an agreement with me and your still stuck making peanuts getting lied too… that’s what a ‘fill in’ in your position gets in that band

I’m sorry Dave lied to you that you think your riffs are still there on the record He didn’t tell you he had them replaced cause you recorded them in your living room and they didn’t cut it … Manipulation is ugly my friend

Broken up friendships, and where’s Dave? Hiding behind a guy he doesn’t let write anything, won’t give a contract too and is only there cause he didn’t wanna pay Rizzo what he’s worth Sad day that this has to happen publicly

This is the type of shit they talk about when they say ‘The music business is an ugly business’ It’s cause of people like you and your boss Shame on you for airing that about Sal, and losing a brother over a couple of dollars and some clout!
