As previously reported, Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser recently made headlines after sneaking a System Of A Down reference into the award show. While introducing actress Glenn Close, the comedian jokingly referred to her as the “former drummer for System Of A Down.” The initial clip caught the attention of guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian, who said “Close was tearing shit up on the drums” before John Dolmayan joined. Now, Dolmayan has responded as well. He said the following in the below Instagram post:
“I guess the cats out of the bag thanks to that a@#h*+£ @nikkiglaser . The fact is @glennclose wrote the drums for most of the second system album and had to come in to lock down decent takes of a few songs as I just couldn’t handle the difficulty and we were running out of time. Thanks to @daronmalakian @serjtankian @shavoodadjian and @teamcoco for keeping the secret for so long. ( a little known fact is that Conan co- produced all our albums ) I feel better that the truth is out there.”
