Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Drusuna.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
DRUSUNA: Drusuna is a personal project, where I seek a space to explore introspective idealism and find solace from the distractions of modern life. It operates exclusively as a studio project rather than a traditional band with rehearsals and collective input. As a result, the creative vision is a direct reflection of my individuality as both a dreamer and creator. The concept behind Drusuna is deeply rooted in spacetime idealism, blending the physical with the imaginary and drawing inspiration from ancestral traditions and mythology. This fusion forms the foundation of its lyrical themes and artistic direction.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
DRUSUNA: Raw nature and ancestry serve as the core inspiration for my thematic and lyrical explorations. I’m deeply fascinated by envisioning a time when humanity lived in direct harmony with the earth and its ancient mysteries. Musically, my background is shaped by a diverse range of influences and experiences. I began with classical music studies but soon ventured into new musical territories, including experimental music, neoclassical, medieval, world music, ethnic sounds, black metal, dungeon synth, among many more. These influences often weave their way into my compositions, always emphasizing their enigmatic and solitary essence.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
DRUSUNA: My latest release is an album that took considerable time to finalize due to its highly conceptual nature. It is deeply rooted in themes of ancestry, mythology, magic and the mysticism surrounding the primordial forest. For those who are drawn to these subjects and enjoy immersive, atmospheric, and alternative sonic journeys, I believe this work will resonate, offering a captivating connection through its enveloping soundscapes and aesthetic.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows
DRUSUNA: I currently have no plans for live performances in the near future, even though I continue to receive invitations to events. However, the possibility is not entirely off the table—it could happen if the right conditions align.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
DRUSUNA: Drusuna will always be a pursuit of a highly conceptual aesthetic and, in my opinion, it will continue to appeal more to a niche audience. I don’t have a concrete vision for the project’s future; instead, I will just do what I’ve always done; create music as a form of escapism. If, along the way, it resonates with others, that will always serve as motivation to keep sharing my creations with joy.
