Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Kevin Grams of MAGEFA.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
GRAMS: Hi, I am Kevin Grams, vocalist, guitar player and songwriter of MAGEFA. Kai Or (Drums), our former bass player and me found ourselves in 2014 in a high-rise bunker in Frankfurt, Germany. Our first demo “A Peek Into Human Bodies” was released in 2016 and we named ourselves ‘MAGEFA’ which is Hebrew for plague. Midst the pandemic our bass player left and we found Andreas Muttscheller on the bass and later Nicolas Perez on the guitar in 2022. With 2 EPs and 5 singles we are heading for new heights.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
GRAMS: The main influences of MAGEFA are Carcass and bands like Death, Thy Art Is Murder and Triptykon.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
GRAMS: Our latest release is called “Bombs Over Europe.” The song surges with intense energy and raw emotions, channeling rage and fury. Its main story is based on the war in Ukraine. With Russia’s nuclear forces on standby, the looming threat of nuclear warfare and a potential World War 3 haunts the narrative.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
GRAMS: People can expect a show with high energy and interaction with the audience at any time. We always give all we have for a good show.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
GRAMS: In the best case we are heading to bigger shows and festivals. In the worst case we just continue to do more music in any way. We will have progressed in any scenario.
