Mothica Cancels U.S. Tour Amid Her Battle With Addiction

Mothica has revealed that she will be entering rehab amid her battle with pill addiction. As a result, her upcoming U.S. tour has been cancelled.

Mothica said the following:

“As some of you may know, I have been struggling with a pill addiction and I have been unable to get off them on my own. I tried unsuccessfully before the EU tour which is what caused the panic attack that landed me in the ambulance.

Instead of cancelling, I was advised to keep taking the drugs to avoid seizures or withdrawals.

I want to play shows when I’m in a healthy headspace, instead of powering through while suffering inside and having suicidal thoughts. My favorite thing about tour is laughing with you and crying with you and hearing your stories because I know how many of you have had similar experiences.

I have lost so much sleep trying to find a way to go to both rehab and go on tour, but it feels like an impossible task to get truly sober with this schedule.

I am so devastated that this means I will be cancelling my set at Mayhem Fest & my US tour.

But this has only made my addiction worse, and upon getting home, I relapsed badly again.

I have been referred to a medical detox facility that can help me get off of the pills safely, but this doesn’t give me any time to immediately get back on the road for tour.

All tickets will be refunded in full.

I look forward to seeing you again when i come out on the other side.”

She also added:

“It breaks my heart to tell you that I cannot play any of my scheduled shows this year because I need to go to rehab. It was an incredibly difficult decision to make for myself because I never want to let other people down. I have been struggling in isolation for a very long time, and it’s become too dangerous to continue. Someone said, “would you rather have annoyed fans or an alive you?” And so I am going to treatment.

I am so sorry to my fans who have gotten tickets — you will receive a full refund. Meeting you and playing the shows is truly my favorite thing and I promise to make it so worth it when I am able to return.

I am sorry to my band (please hire them for your fall tours!!!) @alexdrusso @carter_vaughan

and please go show love to the support acts who are affected by this: @johnny_goth @tobytaylorxx @cami.petyn @negative25music 💔”
