Green Day Rushed Off Stage In Detroit After Drone Flies Overhead

Last night (September 4), Green Day were rushed off stage at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI after an unauthorized drone flew over the venue. The incident occurred during a performance of “Longview” and the band returned shortly after to finish the concert. Detroit Police Department spokesman Cpl. Dan Donakowski said the following:

“There was an individual that flew a drone into Comerica Park, so Green Day was taken off stage. Shortly after that, they went back on stage to perform. DPD located this individual outside of Comerica Park. He is being detained pending further investigation.”

The band have since issued a statement as well:

“Detroit! Sorry for the delay in the show tonight. Stadium security had us clear the stage while they dealt with a potential safety issue. DPD quickly resolved the situation, and we were able to continue. Thanks for understanding.”
