Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With Irian Darkwood

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Irian Darkwood.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about yourself:

DARKWOOD: My name is Irian (ee ree ann) Darkwood, I come from Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada, I started singing when I was really young, always loved the music classes in school, was in a few choirs, and moved to the Karaoke stage at 29, where I discovered my love for preforming in front of a crowd, from there, I moved into recording with my current company and team.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

DARKWOOD: I have a lot of influence. I think from metal and rock of the 80’s and 90’s, Lzzy Hale also is big inspiration for me.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

DARKWOOD: “Greensleeves” is my upcoming release, I think people should check it out because I feel they will find a relatable, humorous take on today’s technology, cyber creeps etc.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

DARKWOOD: When I do start with live shows, I think they can expect a powerful, moving, energetic show

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

DARKWOOD: Hopefully I’ll have lots of music out by then, and be kind of a household name, people will know me by my music, and the messages I share through it will hopefully inspire people.
